Hood Park...its tradition

Every year we make our annual trip out to Hood Park for the day. We have so much fun. This year we did just as we did last year. Brandon, Katie, Jimmy, and Katie's friend Miranda all came plus our good friends/neighbors Kara, Brian, Jacob, and Easton. We headed out and had a blast. Lots of yummy food, good conversation, warm day, kids dirty and wet, dock jumping you know the drill, it was great fun.
This year we even had something exciting, well for us happen. While dock jumping a boat trying to get on the trailer went in sideways so the lady stuck her hand out to block the boat from hitting against the metal poles that stuck out and she smashed her hand. Well that seems pretty normal nothing too major, but I could tell it was bad. So I sent Avery to Aaron on shore where he was with the baby and had her get him and our first aide kit which was a blessing. She got off the boat where Aaron and I met her and began to help her. It was much worse than anyone had thought. She had mangled her hand bad. It looked like she had stuck her hand in a meat grinder. Aaron began cleaning the wound and wrapping it while I handed him gauze, and tape to secure it. We got her fresh ice and wrapped her off to head to the ER where I'm sure she had a very long night. It looked terrible, and I'm sure hurt like something else, but that sweet woman was so calm. I'm just glad we happened to be there so we could help her out. Yay for having an RN for a hubby. :) It was a great and very fun day. :) Kids and parents were pooped!
