2010

Here I am on New Year's Eve, hanging out with 4 wild girls (Avery has a friend over) and my sweet little boy who currently has a fever and is super whiny. I am surprised at how ok I am with the fact that we are doing nothing, Eben's already in bed and its 8:10. The girls have already started a movie and turned it off, and are now listening to Miley Cyrus' cd. I'm chilling in the living room typing this up and thinking how calm it surprisingly is. I'm tired, I'm cold, Ive done a load of laundry, loaded and started the dishwasher, and swept the kitchen and dining room. I was already tired, now I'm officially pooped.
Aaron is at the pro-bull riding at the Trac. He went with my Dad and brother Brandon. He wont be home til' after 9:00 or so. So for now, its just me and these crazies. We have snacks out, yummy raspberry lemonade, chocolate, and oh yea chocolate.
We were supposed to go to my parents and have a get together there, but we cancelled those plans, and then some great friends of ours (Peterson's) invited us over, which is even more tempting considering she has a chocolate fountain going on over there. However I didn't get her message in time and had already put Ebenator to bed. So here I sit in my torn jammies (the ones I want are in the dryer...I'm waiting), listening to the girls get in and out of the peanut butter m & m's and thinking that I cant believe its almost 2010. Can you? I think back 10 years ago...In 2000, I was 22 married for two years, with NO children mind you. We were living in Prosser at the time which sucked, no offense to my in-laws but living there then wasn't a happy time, and we weren't active in the church. We were about to embark on a whirlwind of a spiral that was out of control. It wasn't a good next few years. So many things happened...so many things Id like to forget, but so many great lessons and humbling experiences learned.
In 2002 we would finally become parents, we would go through the temple and become an eternal family, 2004 daughter #2 came along, 2006 daughter #3, and then finally in 2008 we welcomed a son. This coming year is lots to look forward to, 2010 offers great things. In February Avery turns 8 and will be baptized, March I'm heading to Washington D.C. a surprise from very sweet and amazing people in my life, May I turn 32, in June Aaron will finally have his R.N. and I cant wait, July we are going to Utah (if all goes well), and in August 2010 we will welcome baby #5. What can we say we are sticking to the even years.
All in all, it looks to be a very fun, never dull moment, exciting adventure that the Moses Family soon will start together as a family. Looking forward to it all. Hope your New Years is a great one. Enjoy.

Reflections

Well its that time again? I am pretty much done shopping...just a few last minute details that we must not forget. I'm excited to spend time with family and enjoy their company. I'm excited to watch the kids' faces when they come down stairs on Christmas day. I love the anticipation. I love being with them all. I'm excited that I have these memories, and that I get to have more. I have so much to be thankful for this year.

I cant help but reflect on the last year and the last several months all that has happened and all that is going to happen. I have great faith in the promise of tomorrow, I have great faith in repentance, I have great faith in the power of prayer, I have great faith in forgiveness, I have great faith in love, I have great faith in my covenants, and I have great faith in family.

I am excited for the changes that are going on in the four walls of my home, I am excited about the progress that we as a couple are making, and I'm excited that everyone deserves a second chance.

I'm so thankful for this time of year to remember and reflect on the birth of our Savior, for his atoning sacrifice. I'm so thankful for all of the many blessings that I have been given. I'm so thankful for my husband for the love that we share, I'm so thankful that I have four healthy kids that I love and adore, I'm so thankful for parents, for in laws, and extended family that love and support us, and I'm so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm thankful for my temple recommend and for the opportunity that I have to receive the eternal blessings that are promised in his temple.

My only wish is that we will remember the gifts that we have been given this year...not the possessions, but the real and true gifts. I hope that we all remember his birth. I wish you all well, and a very Merry Christmas, with much happiness and much love. Enjoy your family and friends, take a moment and breath them in. Enjoy every second that you have together, I know I will be. Happy Holidays!!!

Finally DONE!!!

I never said it was the prettiest thing, but they were pretty tootin' proud of it. So feast your eyes on their masterpiece of a Gingerbread House. They did awesome, didn't they?

Bedtime...wow it cracks me up.

Its a pretty funny night on this night. Avery always starts off sleeping in our bed while Eben falls asleep, well Jocelyn insisted on sleeping with her Avery, so here they both are in our bed with their babies (too cute)...next is Carys who cracks me up, first off can you see the gloves on...can you, BEAT IT? LOL...I had a good laugh at her. Eben, well I just didn't want to leave him out. He is so sweet all asleep in his bed. Gotta love em'.

Moses Kidlets...2009

Hey I didn't say they looked great, but hey they are together, and for the most part they all cooperated. So that's really all I could ask for, right? Just call it the white trash Christmas picture, in their ghetto clothes (jammies for most). LOL

Fun times at the Moses house...just some fun pictures

Its moments like this I realize how truly blessed I really am. It was so fun taking their pictures, they crack me up...over...and...over...again. It was just one of those nights where everyone wanted to get their picture taken, so I indulged them, of course. :)

Surprise!!!!

August 15th, 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, well I wasn't gonna tell everyone yet, BUT.....it is true as you can see by my widget on the side, BABY #5 is on its way.

It happened faster than we thought, but what are we gonna do? Right?

I'm having a few issues though, and hopefully with prayer everything will be ok and work itself out, I have what is called, Subchorionic Hematoma, which in English means I have a large blood clot attached to my uterus. I'm on strict orders from the doctor. No lifting, vacuuming, picking up Eben, and much more. I have to go in weekly to get ultrasounds and keep an eye on it. I'm blessed with a very thorough doctor, I feel very lucky to have found it now.

12/21/09
We went back in yesterday, and the Hematoma is still present but the baby looks amazing. Aaron and I got to hear the heartbeat. We are super excited, and just trying to obey doctors orders which at times is hard. We go back in again next week for another Ultrasound.

Update on baby Jace

This very sweet little boy is very sick, still. He is still working to get better at the hospital in Indianapolis. They know for sure that his right kidney is NOT working at all, he has a blood clot, they are pretty sure he had at least one stroke, and a very high possibility that he may have mental and or physical handicaps. He is so sweet, and so loved in just the short time hes been in their/our lives. Please keep them in your prayers always. Jace needs them, so does his Mom and Dad who so want to take him home one day.

Perspective

Today I had a conversation with someone. It helped me more than they know. Its interesting how someone you never really thought you connected with or ever had much in common with could put a new perspective on a situation that you both are in. I see how they look at it, and how they deal with things, and I have to say I was inspired. Ive talked with this person alot, but you know casual, everyday things, never anything profound, until today.
It made things look different when looking through their eyes at the situation we both face. Weird how that works huh? I was touched at the things that were said and the way they handled everything and how they are coping. I was also appreciative of the kind words. People really are lucky to have the people in their lives that they do.
I think I'll take there advice, and do the things they are implementing in their life on mine too.

Clarification....

My recent post previous to this one mentioned secrets. I should clarify that. I mean everyone does have a secret or two that they don't tell, but I didn't necessarily mean that like that.
I meant to say, lately things have been difficult, as many of you have noticed. I haven't divulged alot of information, and I am here to say I don't know if and when I will. I feel that time heals all wounds, and I truly believe in the power of prayer, and in forgiveness. I may share when things settle down, but for now, just keep me in your prayers.

Blogging...Honesty...

I have so many things to share. I'm about to bursts with secrets. LOL. Its just not time. I don't know if all will come out. I do know that some will. I can confidently say that. I think that there are some things that we shouldn't open up about.

I read a blog, ok I stalk a blog. Besides the point, but she is fabulous. She has four little kids, married, etc...and a superb blogger, shes the kind that gets paid, shes way out of my league. Anyway, she blogs about everything. Her children, work, happy things, sad things, her husband, their marriage, places they go, recipes, etc...she blogs about things that most all of us do. She does tend to add more details than some though. Perhaps that's why I like her. Shes real. She talks about her life, how crazy it is to have four kids under 5. She also discusses her marriage the problems they go through, the fact that they are in counseling, things that she has learned along the way, and her faith. She isn't LDS but she is very spiritual. She just doesn't sugar coat her posts.

Someday I hope to do that. I mean I think there are things that people don't care about or want to know about, but I also know that reading hers has opened my eyes to know that other people struggle and aren't afraid to blog about it. She helps me. She inspires me. There are alot that do. I appreciate her honesty, while another I appreciate her appreciation for her life that she almost lost. Its amazing how much you can get from reading someone elses trials or tribulations, or the greatest moments, their children walking, crawling, saying their first word...etc...I am moved by it all. I just want to be an honest blogger, and one who gets it out.

Did you know I always wanted to be a writer? Well I did. I got married instead. I love to write. I write poetry, short stories, or just this...just me being me. I enjoy it, it soothes me, it helps me so much. This is part of my process of healing, is to be able to write to get it all out. So if I tend to ramble on, well remember that's just Kristen being Kristen. LOL. Thanks for reading, hopefully you wont get bored.

Meet Jace Evan Thomson...AKA (Jet)

Isn't he just gorgeous? This sweet new guy is Jace Evan Thomson. This is Aaron's brother Crandall's first baby just born on December 8th he was 21 inches long and weighing in at 8 pds 12 ounces. He is adorable. They are so proud. Jen had a hard labor, but hes here. Hes had a rough start. Hes in the hospital still at Riley's Children Hospital in Indianapolis. He was having bad jaundice that they couldn't get under control and now hes having digestive problems. My mother in-law flew out today to be with them and help if needed. Please keep him in your prayers as well as his parents. Welcome to the family baby Jace.

Foolish....or am I?

Have you ever missed someone so much it hurts? Yet, you are so angry that you feel foolish for feeling this way? I guess I'm the fool right now. I'm mad, I'm upset, and I'm angry, hurt, all of the above and so that makes me feel foolish or silly, or ridiculous because I feel all these things and miss them all at the same time. Why do we go through such crazy emotions all the time and at different times. I do really good for awhile I keep things in and don't show anyone my emotion, and then I break down. Poor Aaron he had to listen to me cry and try to understand how and what I feel when at times I don't even understand.
The other night I went to the Relief Society Christmas gathering at the church. I wasn't going to go, but my sweet sister insisted I go. So, she won. I sat through the darn thing and cried the whole time, even in the line waiting to get treats, I was still crying. I had to laugh at myself though cause I thought it was kind of funny. Oh, if we cant laugh at ourselves what good are we? I was hit left and right by the spirit, especially the last speaker when she was talking about forgiveness and about giving our burdens, concerns, heart breaks all of it to our Heavenly Father so that we don't have to carry it all alone. If we just reach out and release our burdens to him that he will be there. I find myself hoarding my troubles. I don't release them to him nearly often enough. I need to do this. I need to be able to let things go, to let him take over and help me more. I cant do it all, and that's why we have a Father in Heaven to help us. I need to practice forgiveness. Its hard. I don't want to feel this way, but its hard. Everyday I pray that Heavenly father will take away what I'm feeling so that I will be able to forgive. I pray for that, I will continue to pray for that, but something tells me I will also be feeling pretty foolish for awhile too.

Snowman Building.

What a fun day I spent at Carys' school. Today we were invited to help our kids build a snowman and then they would perform a couple of songs. It was so nice. Carys did a great job. She continues to impress me by how much she continues to come out of her shell, and what a sweet spirit she is. She is lovely. Here are some pictures of her class and her performance today. Enjoy, I know I did.

It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

Merry Christmas to me. Santa I know you got my letter, I mailed it myself, I think you should start thinking about the things I asked for, what do you think? I have been good, like I mentioned in my letter, so please think about it.

Its freezing outside, I hate it but love it all at the same time. My tree is gorgeous, there are presents under the tree and more to wrap. We are going to make our traditonal Gingerbread house tonight for FHE and the kids are super excited. I will take lots of pictures. The smell of Christmas is in the air. I know that sounds silly, but really I can smell it, everything to me smells like candy canes, wreaths, chocolate, pine, and homemade everything.

Its been a hard month so far but with faith and hope I know that this year will be the start of a new beginning for everyone. I am looking forward to it, to knowing that things heal with time, and time is really what I have.
So heres to the remaining month of December, may it only get better, and January may you bring with you all that we are praying for...we know what it is.
So Merry Christmas to us very soon!!

E.R. Really?

My poor Carys, on Saturday she was playing in her room, listening to music when she fell and cut her hand on the antenna to the boom box. So needless to say after we stopped the bleeding, Aaron came home and took her to the E.R. where she got stitches in her hand. She was super brave and I am so proud of
her.
She has had a rough week with alot of issues and changes that have come up, and then this happened. Hopefully this week is much better...for everyone!

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.....It turns problems into gifts, failures into successes, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. - Melodie Bettie
