Carys Elyse Moses born on 1/27/04 at 12:04 p.m.

I had a dream once after I had Avery that I would have 3 girls and a boy...thus far has been completely true, I guess we shall see what this next baby is, cause I don't have a clue beyond this point.

I went to the doctor on Monday January 26th because I hadn't felt my baby move since the Saturday before, so I went in for a stress test and to see if they could detect any movements...after 40 minutes...NOTHING! So my doctor at the time gave me an ultrasound, she didn't move at all during that either, panic....he said everything was fine, her heartbeat looked great, but for some reason she couldn't or wouldn't move, so...he told me to go home and pack a bag cause I was delivering her that day. I have to admit I was scared. I didn't know what to think or if everything was ok, or was going to be ok. My mom took Avery, and Aaron and I headed to the hospital to await the birth of our second daughter...

We never can agree on baby names its terrible. While pregnant we decided if it was a boy he could name him, and vice versa for me if it was a girl...so it was a girl. I really wanted Carys, and he wanted Elyse. I struggled with this, I felt bad that he wanted Elyse, so I almost named her Elyse, but then my selfish side came out and I thought, heck no if it was a boy I would have had to go along with his name and he wouldn't of felt the least bit bad...(my sons name should tell you all...Eben...he named him). Anyway, so I gave him Elyse though that's how nice I am.

We got to the hospital and they started me right away on the induction...I felt great my water broke pretty quickly, and then when I was a 4 the nurse came in while I was watching the Golden Girls...LOVE IT...and said well lets get you an epidural, I thought heck no I'm good. She gave me this speech about this is my second and she'll come faster etc...so I believed her and even though I wasn't psychologically ready for it, I went ahead, BIG MISTAKE. My blood pressure plummeted and I began puking, then they lost her heart beat constantly. It was scary and miserable. They put me on oxygen and kept flipping me side to side trying to find my sweet baby's heart beat...finally they found it. By the morning of the 27th I was almost completely dilated and feeling ok...my epidural was only working on my right leg, so I felt everything...ugh.
Everyone started coming...my great friend Misty, my sister in-law Vanessa, my Mom, (Jodi was out of town) and Aaron were all their for the birth.
After just a few pushes out came my little baby girl...she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck several times that's why she wasn't moving, she was perfectly healthy and gorgeous. She weighed 7 pounds 13 ounces, 21 inches long, and was exactly two weeks early.

That night they took her to get her pictures taken, when the nurse brought her back she was telling me how it went when she somehow in the very little light in the room saw that she was gasping for air. She picked her up and started to throw her to the floor to get her to breath, I was panicked, Aaron was asleep, and I thought holy cow what is this crazy nurse doing? She did it several more times while there she would just stop breathing, so she tried to put this tube down her throat and get fluid out of her lungs, but that didn't work either, so they took her to the nursery to try something else, which seemed to have done the trick. She swallowed amniotic fluid during birth and they didn't know it. I just felt so lucky that the nurse was there in the room when it all happened.

Carys was a miserable baby the first five months, terribly colicky, it wasn't fun. However, I knew that in time she would be fine. At five months I stopped nursing, and boom she was excellent. She was blissful, and perfect. She slept perfectly after that, never cried, and was such a blessing to our family.

Carys has the sweetest personality...she is shy, she is a hoarder, she has the cutest smile that lights up a room, and the most amazing blue eyes. She is a little Mommy to Eben, or whoevers child she comes across, she is super sensitive, loving, and affectionate. She is also the most girliest girl, she loves anything Princess, dress-up, makeup, dresses, getting her hair done, and playing anything. She is a child who when she makes a friend it is one she keeps for life...so Rhenley is her super special best friend. :)
